Clavellinas, tambi\u00e9n conocida como Coyotes Clavellinas, es la comunidad m\u00e1s poblada dentro del municipio de San Miguel de Allende, con 1,425 habitantes en 296 familias.<\/p>

La vida est\u00e1 mejorando en Clavellinas. En una reuni\u00f3n con la delegada municipal, Consuelo P\u00e9rez L\u00f3pez, supimos que su comunidad es la \u00faltima fuera de la carretera principal a unos 22 km al sureste del centro de la ciudad de San Miguel de Allende.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Su comunidad ha experimentado una transformaci\u00f3n y un cambio econ\u00f3mico en los \u00faltimos 10 a\u00f1os. En 2010, solo 59% de las viviendas ten\u00edan electricidad, agua entubada y drenaje. Ahora, 96% de las viviendas tienen agua potable entubada, 98% tienen electricidad y 87% tienen ba\u00f1os interiores. (Estad\u00edsticas proporcionadas por el censo del INEGI.)<\/p>

La poblaci\u00f3n trabajadora ha pasado de ser mayoritariamente alba\u00f1iles y alba\u00f1iles (trabajadores de la construcci\u00f3n), a operarios de producci\u00f3n manual en el \u00fanico parque industrial de la regi\u00f3n. Larga relaci\u00f3n de Feed the Hungry con la comunidad<\/strong><\/p>

Nuestra cocina escolar, inaugurada en 2007, serv\u00eda m\u00e1s de 500 comidas todos los d\u00edas escolares a estudiantes de preescolar y primaria antes de que la pandemia de COVID-19 suspendiera nuestro programa de comidas. No pod\u00edamos simplemente dejar que los ni\u00f1os pasaran hambre, por lo que desde marzo de 2020 hemos realizado entregas regulares de alimentos a 170 familias en Clavellinas.<\/p>

Nuestra evaluaci\u00f3n de salud m\u00e1s reciente de los estudiantes revel\u00f3 que solo 48% de los ni\u00f1os ten\u00edan un peso normal para su edad. Afortunadamente, nuestra cocina en Clavellinas ha reabierto recientemente y hemos vuelto a proporcionar una comida caliente y nutritiva a estos estudiantes todos los d\u00edas escolares.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Tambi\u00e9n hemos logrado expandir nuestro programa de Nutrici\u00f3n Infantil Temprana para incluir a 30 familias en Clavellinas, brindando nutrici\u00f3n a ni\u00f1os que a\u00fan no est\u00e1n en edad escolar.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Ayuda para una familia afectada por COVID-19<\/strong><\/p>

Recientemente entrevistamos a la residente local Ruth, quien es una de las beneficiarias de nuestro programa de respuesta de emergencia Feed the Families. Ruth tiene 3 hijos: Tania de 12 a\u00f1os, H\u00e9ctor Jr. de 9 a\u00f1os y Romina de 5 a\u00f1os. En el momento de la entrevista, Ruth tambi\u00e9n esperaba un beb\u00e9. Ruth y su esposo, H\u00e9ctor Sr., tambi\u00e9n cuidan a su madre, quien es discapacitada y sufre una enfermedad degenerativa.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Toda la familia contrajo COVID-19 en marzo de 2021, y el pago semanal de $1,350 pesos (US$67) del trabajo de H\u00e9ctor en la f\u00e1brica de pollos no fue suficiente para pagar los gastos m\u00e9dicos adicionales. Una gran parte de los ingresos de H\u00e9ctor se gasta en el tratamiento m\u00e9dico de su hija Tania, que sufre de hidronefrosis en el ri\u00f1\u00f3n izquierdo, y su salario se redujo en 50% durante tres meses. La familia se vio obligada a vender sus ovejas y otros animales para sobrevivir. Sin dinero y con poco trabajo, encontrar una fuente de alimento era preocupante.<\/p>

Desde el inicio de la pandemia, Ruth y su familia han estado recibiendo una bolsa de alimentos de Feed the Hungry cada dos semanas. Con el contenido de la bolsa de alimentos, la familia de Ruth ha recibido sustento y evitado el hambre durante los \u00faltimos dos a\u00f1os.<\/p>

\u201cLo que esta organizaci\u00f3n ha hecho por m\u00ed y por muchas de las familias de Clavellinas est\u00e1 m\u00e1s all\u00e1 de las palabras. Estamos agradecidos por los alimentos y tambi\u00e9n por la educaci\u00f3n continua brindada por los chefs y nutricionistas de la organizaci\u00f3n a trav\u00e9s de los talleres sobre nutrici\u00f3n, c\u00f3mo manejar adecuadamente los alimentos, c\u00f3mo lavarnos las manos, c\u00f3mo tener una mejor calidad de vida y c\u00f3mo evitar enfermedad comiendo sano\u201d, dijo Ruth.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
