El 29 de julio, Gerry Teldon, residente de mucho tiempo en San Miguel, fue reconocido por el hero\u00edsmo de su servicio militar durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial y la Guerra de Corea. El teniente Teldon, de 97 a\u00f1os, recibi\u00f3 el honor casi 80 a\u00f1os despu\u00e9s de su servicio. En una ceremonia presentada por el Cuerpo A\u00e9reo del Ej\u00e9rcito en San Antonio, Texas, y rodeado de tres generaciones de su familia, Teldon fue condecorado con seis medallas: la Medalla del Aire con racimo de hojas de roble, la Medalla de la Campa\u00f1a Estadounidense, la Medalla Europea-Africana-Medio Medalla de la Campa\u00f1a del Este con tres estrellas de servicio de bronce, la Medalla de la Victoria de la Segunda Guerra Mundial y la Medalla del Servicio de Defensa Nacional, junto con la Menci\u00f3n de Unidad Distinguida por acciones en Italia en abril de 1945.<\/p>

Contin\u00faa sirviendo a su comunidad como partidario de Feed the Hungry San Miguel.
